Today students in Mrs. Hinojosa’s 1st grade class embarked on Module 5 in math, where they will identify and compose shapes. For Lesson 1 students got the opportunity to make all kinds of shapes with straws focusing on open and closed shapes. Students got the opportunity to explore the pieces and see what they could make. Great Job students!

Mrs. Flores’ class enjoyed working on a writing activity inspired by the book, “Oh, The Places You’ll Go!” by Dr. Seuss. Students wrote about a place they would like to visit and created a suitcase to take on their journey.

Mrs. Cortina’s 1st grade class had a wonderful time listening to Oh, the Places You’ll Go! by Dr. Seuss! After the story, they let their imaginations take flight by creating suitcases for a place they would love to visit.

The student’s in Mrs. L.Tovar’s class reviewed the importance of finding text and graphic features in the story. Students picked a question and answered it using text and graphic features. Then, the students were able to show their understanding by presenting their findings to the class.
