Today the students in Mrs. Hinojosa’s class wore yellow to show support for National Suicide Prevention & Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
The class celebrated a birthday of a classmate, Happy Birthday Jaiden Vasquez a 5th grade student. We hope you enjoyed your birthday!
Mrs. Hinojosa’s class worked on an activity to review good and bad choices. Students identified the choice and colored it green for good and red for bad. Students cut the picture and were able to identify in which group it belonged. Students practiced a lot of skills in this activity. Keep up the great work boys and girls.

Today student’s in Mr. Zapata’s class learned about the meaning of 16 de septiembre. Students colored a sheet that was made into a crown to celebrate today.

Pre-K 3 and Pre-K 4 students in Mrs. Quintanilla’s class worked today with some playful chalk writing on the number three. They practiced writing the number and making quantities of three. This simple activity not only builds a strong foundation for writing but also helps enhance their fine motor skills.
Ms. R. Flores' Kinder class is working on reading, building, and writing -at Word Family words. They are using their decoding skills and building words using manipulatives. They are building their vocabulary word banks, and preparing themselves to become fluent readers.

La Joya – At approximately 3:30 PM on September 6, 2023, a La Joya Independent School District bus was involved in a traffic accident at the intersection of 4 Mile Line and Texan Road. Fortunately, there were no students on board at the time of the incident.
The bus was carrying three La Joya ISD employees who were on route to their respective destination. We are relieved to report that all three employees have been transported to the hospital for evaluation and treatment, and we are pleased to confirm that they have sustained no major injuries.
September is Attendance Awareness Month. Every day counts and being present in the classroom sets the foundation for academic achievement and personal growth. When students show up, they have the chance to engage, learn, and build meaningful connections with teachers and peers.
